Jordan Lake State Recreation Area located in Apex, North Carolina is an absolute must visit if you are in the area. The campsites are amazingly huge with an incredibly amount of space between sites. There are over 1,000 sites to choose from. When we visited there were hardly any campers on our loop. We had this beautiful campground to ourselves, for the most part. There is a massive lake with beaches, boat ramps and plenty of fun to be had by all. Most of the campers are able to be within a minute of the water. There are multiple sites that sit directly on the lake.

There are varying amenities depeding on which you loop you book. It’s an old State Park, so most of the sites only have a 30 AMP hookup but some do have 50 AMP. Some spots must be reserved but they also have a whole loop of first come, first serve campsites. From what we saw there are no sewer hookups to be had but there are a few dump stations.

The amount of space between campsites is something we’ve never seen before when it comes to RV spots in any park, anywhere. Watch the first few minutes of the video below to see how wonderful this campground is.

Overall Rating

(4/5)

We had nothing but fun at this park.

Site Quality

(3/5)

It’s a very old park. Not extremely well kept. There are so many campers that inevitibly there is going to be trash and debris here and there. Not bad but noticable.

Amenities

(4/5)

Fishing, boating, sailing, swimming, beaches and incredibly surroundings. The only real downside is the lack of sewage hookup.

Site Hookups

(3/5)

No sewage and 30 AMP.

Access

(4/5)

Easy Access to each loop. Some sites are going to much more difficult to back into depending on the size of the rig. However, there is a ton of space to manuever at this park.

Cleanliness

(3/5)

Decent. Each campsite does have a trash can at the end of the driveway. Which is a great feature.

Starlink

(0/5)

Nope

Verizon

(2/5)

Just enough.

Cell Data Router

(3/5)

We were able to access sim card data via our Verizon card and the Mofi router. Full high speed internet the whole time.
